Junior Cloud Engineer ID 2024-2600 Job Locations US-IL-Scott AFB Category Information Technology Type Regular Full-Time Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking two Junior Cloud Engineers to support the GTP-GOPAX program. The Junior Cloud Engineers will assist with the implementation and maintenance of cloud environments, working with senior engineers to ensure systems meet security and performance standards. This position offers opportunities to work in cloud migration, containerization, and DevSecOps environments. This position is onsite at Scott AFB. Duties & Responsibilities Assist in the deployment and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring environments meet DoD security standards. Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Terraform to automate application deployment. Support security compliance efforts by performing security scans (e.g., Fortify, Nessus) and maintaining STIG compliance. Assist in the cloud migration efforts, including application refactoring and optimization for cloud environments. Learn and apply cloud automation techniques and container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Maintain system documentation and collaborate with senior engineers to develop blueprints and migration plans. Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot cloud-related issues and ensure optimal cloud infrastructure performance. Qualifications Active Secret Clearance. Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience in cloud engineering, systems administration, or related IT roles, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and DevSecOps practices. High School diploma with technical experience; College degree preferred. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or similar preferred. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Basic knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Proficiency in using automation tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, and Ansible. Familiarity with DoD security compliance (e.g., DISA STIGs, RMF, FedRAMP). Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
